Hugo Chavez

Looking into Hugo Chavez’s life and what he created, you will be able to agree with the fact that he was one of the most powerful leaders in history.

Hugo Rafael Chavez Frias was the 47th president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. Growing up in the rural areas of Venezuela, he was raised by his grandmother in a time of harshly classist Venezuela, in which poor people like him and his grandma were looked down upon. This situation sparked his political interest at a very young age. He enlisted in the army to fight for his country. With time and charisma, he climbed up the ranks becoming a supreme commander in the armed forces.

Chavez’s goal has always been to reach equality between the social classes. It wasn’t until after Venezuela was facing  an economical hardship when Chavez decided to form a new independent party and participate in the elections. This brought a rush of fresh air to the venezuelan people at the time. However, instead pf following the legal pathways of an election, chavez organizes a coup.

CHAVEZ MADE IT HAPPEN

Chavez had a vision the past presidents hadn’t had. Equality for all. He felt that all the poor people deserved just as much as the high glass people. Shelter, food, water. Peace. His plan after becoming president involved sending a box filled with food to those who supported him and building residencies for all the homeless. Not only that, his goal was to pass the poor class into a working class. Later on, he also created foundations to economically support schools and created public schools and universities that people could go for free so that everyone had education.

The “clap” box and the food it tipically contains

His ideal form of government and leadership was socialism. Which consist in a political and economic theory of social organization which advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole.

“PATRIA, SOCIALISMO, O MUERTE”

Chavez’s slogan “patriotism, socialism, or death”

Though Chavez passed away back in March 5th, 2013, his legacy still continues today. Chavez’s leadership was so powerful, that now, almost 10 years after his death, his political party is still in charge of the country Venezuela. Chavez gave food boxes, shelters, and new  homes to the poor. He focused on making everyone equal. To this day, the houses given by Chavez are still in use, the boxes of food are still being distributed, and the schools are still active.

Chavez won the presidential elections by 56.20%. over half of the country believed in him. over half of the country saw someone they could rely on. Over half of the country considered him a great leader.

Conclusion, Chavez worked his way up. He won the people with his words and actions. He made choices no other president would’ve thought of in their time. He was a revolutionary for his time. His election revolved on the less fortunate ones.
