Template for Great Leader Competition Blog Post

The assignment is divided into 4 parts and will include:

  1. A Blog Post on a class webpage
  2. Notes, Ratings Charts
  3. Citations and
  4. Voting and Peer Assessment

Create a blog post on the class webpage. Here is a guide:

  1. Obtain your log-in to the webpage.
  2. Create a title
  3. Follow the criteria in Parts 1, 2, and 3 and take notes. Don’t forget to use the historical significance chart and to summarize findings.
  4. Write your post!
  5. Add your post to the webpage and publish!
  6. Vote using the voting form on Friday 21st, with the class.

Your post might go something like this:

CASTRO’S LEADERSHIP ACHIEVEMENTS

(SAMPLE SUPPORT) In the categories of : vision, legacy, impact, iconic status, and also have a degree of recognition in the world, Castro was a high achiever. First of all, his vision for Cuba was all about creating a better life for citizens, while also being a reaction to the fact that Cuba had been under the control of foreign powers who were solely out for profits, not the welfare of regular people. For example, he focused largely on medical and educational endeavours and furthering the fight against imperial rule by giving military assistance to end apartheid rule in South Africa.

Continue to add according to the criteria on your project sheet. Note the assessment rubric.

Remember the purpose of your blog post is to educate a general audience about your leader, and to influence their views about that leader so they can vote.  Checklist:
Did you comment on and provide evidence on a minimum of 5 criteria to prove the leaders’ greatness? ie. legacy, degree of recognition…? 
Did you complete the ratings chart and paragraph on historical significance? 
Did you provide the reader/viewer with enough information in your blog post so they could make an informed decision about the leader? 
Is the blog post organized, focused and does it cover all of the requirements? 
Do the visuals support the blog post?
