On October 16th and 17th, in the Centre for Dialogue at Byrne Creek Secondary, students will participate in Global Dignity Day proceedings thanks to the efforts of Ms. Farquhar, Byrne Creek teachers and Global Learning.
On October 16th, principal Mr. D. Rawnsley, along with guests Mr. O. Lee and Senator Martin, will share his thoughts about dignity in a school and personal context with a large group of Byrne Creek students. Students will ponder the idea of dignity, and then work on their own personal stories of dignity.
On Thursday, October 18th, many of the same students will meet in the Centre again to join a cross Canada videoconference. Justin Trudeau, MP, will address the students with opening remarks. By 10:30, one student from each site will share their own story of dignity, including a Burnaby student.
For those interested in attending or in learning more about this event, please contact Deirdre Moore or Albert Lee at Byrne Creek Secondary extension 2108.
